If you are looking for a book with a little adventure to read with young children this will definitely work. As Imogen ups her sleuthing game, her younger brother Arthur finds confidence and friendship through Einstein, and the family embark on an exhilarating quest. When the Stewarts -- Dad, Mom, nine year old Imogen and 6 year old Arthur -- visit the London zoo on a cold December afternoon, the last thing they expect is for a penguin to follow them home and make himself their guest. I hope there's more Einstein to come; I think he'll do really well and I'm looking forward to selling this. You guys were so fab and Dawn was such a lovely presence in the schools - I will absolutely be in touch next time I'm in your neck of the woods.

Bronnie is so lovely with the boys and we also felt that having a man enthusing about the books set a great example. I have even talked the head into a little revamp of the library so that we can display them properly! Your selection was perfect for our children and what really made the difference was your ability to engage with each child, discuss their interests and help them to choose a suitable book based on your extensive knowledge of the books you were selling. Toen ik dit boek voorbij zag komen op bookstagram, ging ik op zoek in de KoboPlus catalogus en downloadde ik het boek. But he didn't just follow them home from the zoo, there's a very important reason he's in London in the first place. Einstein is a very resourceful penguin, having managed to escape his home at Sydney Zoo and managed to get himself on a flight to the UK, where he believes Issac is and is busy looking for him in London Zoo when the Stewart family see him. The mother, Mrs Stewart, says that although they must leave and go home now, the penguin could always come and visit them. The family's new feathered friend helps Arthur to come out of his shell and makes massive demands on Imogen's amateur sleuthing. The Australian character even looks like the Australian actor Bill Hunter and the facial expressions on all the characters are just brilliant.

Het is het begin van een wel heel bijzonder avontuur waarin Imogen en Arthur als ware detectives op zoek gaan naar Einsteins vriend Isaac. There was just the right amount of choice to suit everyone without being overwhelming and I received comments from parents and staff about the quality of books offered compared to previous sales which have always been based around current crazes and well known celebrity authors. It is difficult to know what age group this is targeted at - I would have expected the readership to become seven and eight year olds but vocabulary such as penchant, pertinent and trepidatious is a bit wide of the mark. There are just the right number of illustrations to keep the imagery in your mind going and to highlight aspects of the text, the images are drawn with wonderful simplicity of the black and white images allows the reader to add colours and details in their own mind.

Can they help him complete his quest before the mysterious man in a wide-brimmed hat catches up with them?

Through the detailed events, choices of language and character speech, the reader will soon be laughing as the chaotic events unfold. The Stewarts never could have guessed that a day trip to the zoo would mean they’d end up sharing their house with a penguin, let alone the amazing mystery that follows. The illustrations beautifully add to the overall story and the darkness really helps to build an atmosphere. They would also only drop off a case of books and leave us to run it – it was so lovely to have you on hand to chat to the children and recommend them books, as well as the small (but appreciated!Young Arthur is desperate to see the penguins and, even though the zoo is about to close for the day, he makes sure that he visits their enclosure. This is a super cute little story about a family living in London who go to the zoo and when they see the penguins, one of them captures their attention. When Pippin discovers she possesses magical powers, she uses her newfound skills to investigate the mysterious water shortage in Funsprings. Einstein escapes from the Sydney Australia zoo to London to find his friend Isaac, a rockhopper penguin who also used to live at the Sydney zoo.

Touches on the ideas of communication barriers and difficulties, friendship and the struggle to make friends, love and possible links to autism or some kind of sensory sensitivity. From stunning new writing talent Iona Rangeley, and illustrated with wit and brio by the award-winning David Tazzyman, this is a book that will be treasured for years to come. This could be a good book for a teacher to read to his/her class and/or a grandparent or parent to read to their children.

Het verhaal is fantasierijk en avontuurlijk, maar tegelijk heeft de auteur er ook wel realistische dingen in verwerkt, zodat het voor volwassenen eveneens een leuk verhaal kan zijn. Imogen, a nine-year-old girl and her younger brother, Arthur, are taken on a last minute trip to London Zoo.
