Description

Tasked with conveying vulnerability, identity, madness, loss and forbidden love, she excels in her beguiling narrations, which are as much acting performances as they are musical. Not as innovative as its predecessors, Supernature instead takes its cues from the previous two albums and presents them in a more polished, less abstract way. A s a duo whose work has been described as cinematic from the very beginning of their career, in many senses Tales Of Us is the album Goldfrapp were always destined to make – it forsakes the traditional approach to an LP and instead sees Alison inhabit a series of fictional characters.

Alison Goldfrapp described the album as "English romanticism with a hint of California sunshine."while Will Gregory called it "heartache dressed in ten louche outfits". It's honestly fantastic, and it should be regarded as, if not better than Felt Mountain, at least as one of the best albums of 2008. Come on! This is criminally overlooked. a b Murphy, John (25 February 2008). "Goldfrapp – Seventh Tree". musicOMH. Archived from the original on 11 July 2015 . Retrieved 10 July 2015. Offiziellecharts.de – Goldfrapp – Seventh Tree" (in German). GfK Entertainment Charts. Retrieved 10 July 2015.Following every good party, there’s always a comedown. After Alison Goldfrapp and Will Gregory created the sleaziest, sexiest and downright dirtiest party imaginable with their third album Supernature, it’s inevitable that the follow up would be something of a volte-face. The music is fantastic, it exudes this angellic, fairytaley feel, but it's never an immature kind of fairytale, that's what makes it a beautiful experience. The lyrics are also excellent, romantic and funny at times, solidifying the duo as not only great musicians, but also great lyricists.
