Description

Here is a fun periodic table of fictional elements, along with a brief summary of some of the most popular imaginary substances from television, games, comics, and movies. Some entries may contain spoilers for the source material, so be careful if you haven’t seen, read, or played everything on the list! Alright, on to the fictional periodic table. TV Shows Marco Arnaudo (translated by Jamie Richards), The Myth of the Superhero, (JHU Press), 2013, ISBN 1421409534, 9781421409535, p19 Some characters had to have their names altered for various reasons – for example, in the comics, the villain thanos was initially known as “the mentor,” but his name was changed to avoid confusion with another marvel character.

Even if we cleaned up the geometry - adding a row has other issues: All of these elements are synthetic. Everything larger than californium (Cf) must be made in a lab, or decayed from something made in a lab. So anything here would be radioactive. And dense. For example: Aluminium (Al, Z=13) is 2,700 kg/m 3, Steel (mainly Fe, Z=26) is 7,850 kg/m 3, plutionium (Pu, Z=104) is 19,800 kg/m 3. Vibranium is supposed to be "stronger than steel and weighs only one third as much," but if it came after plutonium it'd be three times as heavy unless you could get away with only using 1/10 the material (by volume). An ancient fireproof alloy made from gold and netherite scraps, which are smelted from ancient debris found in the game's hellish Nether dimension. When combined with diamond equipment, the metal creates the game's strongest weapons and armor. [53] [54] Element which is, in the French first edition of the novel, ~100,000 times more radioactive than radium. [92] In the English first edition this is reduced to 100 times. [93] Xirdalium was invented by Jules Verne's son Michel, who introduced it to the novel, together with the character Zephyrin Xirdal, [94] a 'private genius' who synthesized the new element. In the story Xirdal then uses Xirdalium in a contraption emitting a strong tractor beam able to alter the trajectory of the meteor mentioned in the novel's title. Yellow metal bars given to people who gained achievements in the game SpaceChem. It can be used to craft items such as fishcake or a SpaceChem pin. Seth Godin, The Encyclopedia of Fictional People: The Most Important Characters of the 20th Century, (Boulevard Books), 1996, ISBN 1572970731, 9781572970731, p4a b Jason Gregory, Game Engine Architecture, Second Edition, p25-26, (CRC Press), 2014, ISBN 1466560010, 9781466560017 Much later in the DC timeline, members of the Legion of Super Heroes wear "flight rings" made of an alloy of Nth metal called valorium.

Some actors have even been hired as the result of fan campaigns, such as benedict cumberbatch’s casting as doctor strange. A yellow liquid with the atomic number 13 and the symbol Nn that makes a compound that explodes when exposed to air when mixed with Galine, and an antivirus when mixed with Regalite and Sanite. The real element 13 is aluminium.

Dust: Dust is the basic unit of consciousness from the His Dark Materials series by Philip Pullman. Dust is sometimes called Rusakov Particles after the scientist Boris Rusakov who played a key role in dust’s discovery.

(Protip: rare earth metals have a lower atomic number than the Fictional metal named in the 1986 computer game Uridium, available for the Commodore 64, [83] ZX Spectrum, BBC Micro, and Amstrad CPC. [84] Each level of the game takes place on a space dreadnought named after a different metal. The last level is named after the fictional element uridium. The cassette inlay card says the name was created by one of the game developers who thought uridium really existed. [85] (Not to be confused with real element iridium.) Thor is another popular Marvel character with a well-known symbol and name. His emblem, often depicted as a winged helmet or a stylized ‘T’, represents the thunder god’s Asgardian heritage. There is a reason why Miles Morales (from the Spider-Man Into the Spider-Verse) is not in the same category as Peter Parker, or that Fantastic Four and Doctor Doom are placed so far from each other despite being close in reality. To know about the evaluation that landed these characters in their respective categories, you will have to know about the science-based aspects of these characters, as well as a little history of their origin. The most common reason an element is introduced in the Marvel universe is that we need a new, fantastical, metal to advance the plot. The Marvel elements Omnium, Carbonadium, Adamantium, Vibranium, Scabrite, and Gravitonium fall into this category. Elements are also added as a new source of power or magic. Tony Stark's new element to power his arc reactor - identified here as Badassium - is one of these.
